Synopsis:

Learning objectives:

This course is designed to open your eyes to creative treatment planning and show you how to avoid remakes, patient dissatisfaction and frustration. It will show you how to eliminate adjustments and avoid taking multiple impressions. The importance of temporization as a guide to predictable dentistry will be stressed. A well made temporary restoration provides the laboratory technician with a blueprint for tooth length, width, thickness, arch form, midline cant and occlusion. Techniques and the restorative process from impression taking to insertion of the case will be addressed.


Dr. Elliot Mechanic received his Bachelor of Science (1975) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (1979) degrees from Montreal's McGill University. Dr. Mechanic is recognized for his "advanced" cosmetic dental services and his devoted commitment to his loyal clientele.

Dr. Mechanic has created some of the most beautiful smiles in the world including many media personalities. Dr Mechanic believes that improving a person's smile through natural looking cosmetic dental techniques has a positive impact on their overall appearance and self-confidence.

Dr Mechanic and his work have been profiled in magazines and on television and radio.

Dr. Mechanic is known as a trendsetter in the ever changing world of dentistry and maintains membership in numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, European Academy for Cosmetic Dentistry, International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics, Academy of Laser Dentistry and The Canadian Dental Association. He is the Co-founder of the Canadian Academy for Esthetic Dentistry.

A native Montrealer, Dr Mechanic is married to Mireille and has four daughters
